Black Twig

Black Twig are about fuzzy pop songs, shoegaze, folk & droning rock songs.

It all started out with improvisation and spacey jams, but somehow compositions and thought-out structures began to build up. They live in Helsinki, but the members originally hail from obscure Finnish locations like Pyhtää, Hyvinkää, Vantaa, and Kuopio. They play two guitars, one electric bass, and a set of drums. Some cheap organ sounds and the occasional whir of a tambourine can also be audible. The band has provoked discussion on many often debated topics such as “Is that a ring modulator on the bass guitar?” or”How many fuzz pedals can you cascade into a 7.5 watt amplifier?” or even “Could a song start with a riff, the bass comes in and drums as usual?”.

They released their self-produced debut EP called Swans et Tea in August of 2010. Black Twig are now working on their first long player to be released through Soliti.

As we approach summer the release schedule (at least regarding albums) slows down a little here at Soliti but many of the bands play shows around Finland and other parts of Europe.
