Ghostina arrives via Soliti on the 21st October on digital, vinyl & CD formats.
Stinako announces her second full length album Ghostina, which is released via Soliti on the 21st October 2022. The album is preceded by first single “Pelasta mut”, a self realised, understated banger. Stina Koistinen (Stinako) , tells us of the single: “Pelasta mut” (Save Me) is a song about drowning in a sea of sorrows and loneliness and asking for help. Asking something or someone, anybody, to lift me up and take my hand, guide me out of the sadness. While the text is emotional and desolate, the soundscape is bright, hopeful and full of light. This is a melancholic party anthem!”
“Pelasta mut” is released on the 26th August 2022.

“Pelasta mut” has a video directed by Anna Brotkin, who tells us “ I instantly fell in love with the ambivalent mood of the song. I love how in Stina’s music there are often contrary elements present at the same time: joy and melancholy, longing and determination, strength and vulnerability. In the video I wanted to capture the moment after a party long drawn out, returning to one’s own company. We shot the video as a small group of three with cinematographer Theofanis Kavvadas and camera assistant Iina Mesiniemi. Video was shot in early summer at Vallila industrial state at the time of sunset. We were hunting for beautiful light spots here and there.”

“It wouldn’t be too extravagant to describe it as an unassuming pop banger if you can imagine such a thing. Stina suggests ‘a melancholic party anthem’ ….But what happens next is astonishing. It’s a full-on dance track, with the main thumping synth-generated theme supported by what are nigh on trap beats…and violins! And from around the 2:45 mark it explodes, setting your goose bumps on fire.” Nordic Music Central
“… as a composition it would be well suited to rock the dance floor of an indie disco.” Soundi
Stinako : Ghostina (Soliti 102)
Release date: 21/10/2022 Available on Vinyl, CD and digital formats.
Ghostina is the follow up to Stinako’s much loved debut album Ikuisuus, which established Stinako in her own right and was nominated for the prestigious Nordic Music Prize. Of the themes of Ghostina, Koistinen tells us: “Ghostina is a phantom living in the ruins of my memories. The album is a collection of songs grown out of those ruins, coming to life as they’re sung and played by my beautiful band which consists of Tapio Viitasaari, Aili Järvelä, Mila Laine and myself. Memories are always partly true and partly invented by our minds. Ghostina is an alias of Stinako.”

Praise for Ikuisuus
“…when she hits the high notes towards the end the rawness and richness together are emotionally overwhelming. She simply has the knack of doing that.” God Is In The TV Zine
“Immediately the tone of the stately piano will hit you, melancholy and deliberate, and that throws all the intention on to those vocals, which are just phenomenal, intoxicatingly powerful but almost fragile at times, they soar to an extraordinary level, delivering a beautiful cascading melody that climaxes and fades. ‘Kun Viimein Saavuit’ is a simply stunning song.” Nordic Music Review
“Images that mere words cannot reach – Stinako’s album oozes different shades of melancholy” Soundi ****
“I’m really quite taken with this hauntingly beautiful piece” SWIT
“ the beautiful voice echoes in the shores of minimalism, harping around and above the song.” Desibeli ****
“the overall feeling is liberating.” Riffi
“The album is a beautiful, bright, deep treatise on loneliness, waiting, doors and death – humanity. “ Voima *****
