Satellite Stories recent Vagabonds album – produced by Simon “Barny” Barnicott, who had previously worked with bands like Arctic Monkeys, Temper Trap, and Bombay Bicycle – has pulled the band forward once again, helping to establish the Finnish 4 piece as one of the countries leading exports on the international music scene.
Vagabonds has seen the band warmly received by the critical community whilst lighting up the airwaves with previous singles The Trap, Heartbeat and album title track Vagabonds.
To coincide with the announcement of the winter tour Satellite Stories drop their latest single, the hook heavy Campus. With it’s whistling refrain this is another example from Satellite Stories of how to write a memorable pop song, demonstrating that they bring the sunshine with them regardless of the few hours daylight in their northern base.
In less than 2 months the new songs have reached streaming numbers of over 3 million, Hit #1 on Twitter Music and another top 10 entry into The Hype Machine. Live the band have also taken to the next level, their London headline show on (March 9th) sold out within a few weeks of going onsale, Festival appearances will see the band move up the billing to headline the Radio 3 Stage at SOS Festival in Spain (May 1st), sharing the stage with the likes of Palma Violets and current UK favourites Years & Years.
In Finland Vagabonds has been more than well received with great reviews and The Trap single spending some weeks atop Ylex‘s national radio playlist. With international tour dates for the fall announced today, Finnish fans should look out for some new winter dates in Finland soon. Watch this space.
