The New Tigers announce new album “4” – share “Star” single

“4” arrives on the 27th November via Soliti

The New Tigers announce their fourth album “4” – releasing on the 27th November 2026 via Soliti.  The album announcement comes with a new single “Star” – “”Star” was partly inspired by music from a land far away, though as often happens, inspiration then takes you again far away from where you started. Prominent in the song are two guitars weaving their separate but joining patterns and shapes, something that has been a staple of The New Tigers since the beginning, along with the groovy rhythm section.”  The New Tigers explain..

The New Tigers discuss their new album “4”
“The upcoming fourth New Tigers album “4” finds the band in an eclectic mood. One could say that all the elements from their previous work are present, as well as plenty of new flavours. The songs on the album are always poppy and melodic, often rocking and sometimes quite experimental. The album features many kinds of moods from fuzzed-out rockers, classic Tigers guitar trips and rhythmical synth-heavy pop numbers to sleepy acoustic moments. The album is the first one to feature the band’s third drummer, Niko Kivikangas. The rest of the quartet remain the same: Vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Appu Jasu, guitarist/vocalist Valtteri Virtanen and bassist Janne Kauppinen. The band sounds more precise and rich in nuances than ever, so look out!”

The New Tigers “4” has ten songs and it comes out on CD and streaming formats on the 27th November.

The record release show will be played at 8-Raita record store in Turku on Saturday 28.11. At 2pm. Free entry!

The New Tigers is a fuzzy pop group from Finland. The band was founded in 2006 in order to play noisy yet melodic freewheeling pop music. Some people have described the band’s sound similar to Yo La Tengo, Jonathan Richman and Teenage Fanclub, yet in the same sentence underlined the band’s quirky originality. The New Tigers have released three albums with a fourth on the way, and have played live in the UK, Spain, Belgium and Scandinavia, among others. The band has gained a reputation as a fun, adventurous and slightly chaotic live act. The New Tigers consist of Appu Jasu (vocals/keyboard/guitar), Valtteri Virtanen (vocals/guitar), Janne Kauppinen (bass) and Niko Kivikangas (drums). The band is located in the west coast seaside town of Turku.
