Telephone Romeo is “Running From Fury” – new single out now

The last single before the debut Telephone Album arrives on the 5th June.

Telephone Romeo’s self-titled debut album arrives on the 5th of June, and now they share the last pre-release single from the album with “Running From Fury” – an urgent, personal song that offers propulsive energy and thoughtful expression.

Aleksi Skippari (Telephone Romeo) expands on the ideas behind  “Running From Fury”
“Running From Fury is a deeply personal song. It examines and confronts aspects of my life that have been bubbling under the surface waiting to be recognized.I had been recovering from a back injury which left me bedridden for a month so I had a lot of time to reflect and write lyrics. The thing I had always dreaded and had the most difficulty with. This song in particular became my favourite, since I’m doing a lot of stuff on it I’ve never done before. Nothing really repeats, the choruses and verses are all very linear and have unique perspectives throughout the story.”
“Running From Fury” is released on the 8th May 2026 – via Soliti Recordings

Initial Reaction

“What I love of hearing is that it takes a bit of a pop spin on the circles of rock n’ roll; you can hear some lineage to Julian Casablancas’ solo work, building infectious rhythms and snaps beneath this steady croon of pop warmth.” Austin Town Hall

“Some songs move like they can’t afford to stop. In “Running From Fury,” Telephone Romeo channels frustration, guilt, and emotional exhaustion into a constantly evolving track that avoids traditional repetition in favor of momentum and tension.” Rmas

“Telephone Romeo is the project of artist and producer Aleksi Skipperi, and we already love it.”Rocktails

“…fast-paced track with strong rock influences and a lo-fi feel that naturally complements the delivery; the vocals fit perfectly into this modern indie rock style where soaring melodies coexist with heavy instrumentation” Oleada Indie

“In the end, dear reader, here is an unforgettable song that will captivate you.” Roadie Music

“The fully open hi-hat gives rise to a dirty and quite shrill sound that serves as a kind of host for the elucidation of a naturally melancholic atmosphere formed by a guitar with an intoxicating riff and a male voice that, with its whispering timbre, brings life to the lyrical narrative.” Music For All

“After years of singles, EP’s, brewing concepts and exploring different sides of artistry, it’s finally time to present Telephone Romeo as a whole, fully realised, at this point in time anyway. The album delves into personal struggles and revelations with life, love and relationships. Finding your place in your own life and the role you play in others. A reminder that there is so much more to you than you might realise.Compared to earlier releases this album is more personal, vulnerable and lyric focused, where I really wanted to say what I mean and mean what I say. To reflect this the production is more stripped back to focus on what’s important for the song and the message. This is an album where influences are worn on the sleeve, immediacy is crucial and sincerity is essential.” Aleksi tells us of his debut album.

“What I found was four and a half minutes of impressive, sweeping, energetic, melodic, synth-driven, multi-layered, non-stop psychedelic electro rock meets dream pop.” Nordic Music Central

“elegant, immersive and resolutely vibrant electro-pop.” Iggy Magazine

““Muscle Memory” solidifies Telephone Romeo as the highlight of the month in indie pop.” Roadie Music

“A brilliant track, brimming with synth-driven psychedelic pop sensibilities.” Niche Music

“I liked the guitar sounds here, reminiscent of that last Strokes record, which I admittedly love; it’s an angular vibe rooted in the breadcrumbs of new wave.” Austin Town Hall

“Another hit from the Finnish artist” Rumba

“ The first is a rollicking garage rocker, the second is a soaring synth banger. Very good stuff, we think.” WYMA
