PINK CHAMELEONS RELEASE NEW SINGLE/VIDEO ‘MELTING FACE’

The first taste from the upcoming debut EP, released this coming fall via Soliti

Pink Chameleons release their second single ‘Melting Face’ – a striking and forceful song that features backing vocals from Plastic Tones Tytti Roto. The song tells us it’s never good to always look back and reminisce, but instead to try and look ahead. ‘Melting Face’ is the first taste of Pink Chameleons debut EP which arrives via Soliti this autumn. The trio follow the release of the brand new single with an appearance at this year’s Soliti Fest 2019 on the 24th August.

Pink Chameleons Paltsa-Kai tells us about the lyric video: “We have been growing beautiful flowers in our garden this summer, and I thought this was a good opportunity to show them off a bit. Unfortunately, the days before I had opportunity to film them, the weather was rainy and cold so when I did the video, the flowers were all scruffy and funny looking. But that actually visually fits the song better”.

INITIAL REACTION TO ‘MELTING FACE’

“An urgent psych/garage rocker of a tune, it reminds us of The Jesus and Mary Chain, as well as frontman Paltsa-Kai Salama’s former outfit Black Lizard. And that means we like it a lot.” WYMA (US)

“It seemingly works against the driving pulse of the music beneath the surface, sort of raising the song’s spirituality before the effortless swagger of the verse comes into play; I like a good juxtaposition, in any form.” Austin Town Hall (US)

Pink Chameleons are a new three piece band fronted by Black Lizard’s Paltsa-Kai Salama (Vocals & Guitar) with Antti Sauli (Bass) and Ville Hopponen (Drums). The band posit themselves as a Garage/Blues/Country Band, those broad strokes could take in a Pink Chameleons feeling for everything from The Stooges to Waylon Jennings – with the band’s indelible contemporary stamp on proceedings. The upcoming EP is released this coming fall via Soliti, which includes “Melting Face” and three brand new tracks.
