The New Tigers

The New Tigers release two track single “Off The Wall” b/w “Butterfly”
The twofer single arrives on the 21st Nov. via Soliti

One could say the secret is out of the bag – but Turku’s world famous purveyors of fuzzed out dream pop The New Tigers are working on a new album which will see the light day sometime in 2026. If that news in itself wasn’t exciting enough, we’re very happy to reveal that two new songs from the band arrive this month – “Off The Wall” b/w “Butterfly” releases on the 21st Nov. The New Tigers keep standards high on these new songs (did we expect anything else?) – here’s what they tell us about the tracks

“This is a double A-side single from The New Tigers. After the experimental spoken word of last year’s single “Säbä”, these new songs find the band in their fuzzed-out and atmospheric sides. Both songs will be featured on the album that is about to follow.
“Off the Wall” is the louder song of the two. The vocals are delivered by Valtteri Virtanen. The short C-section can be seen as a tribute to bob hund. The track is the band’s first release to feature the snappy and powerful drumming of Niko Kivikangas, also known from Burning Hearts.
“Butterfly”, on the other hand, doesn’t feature drums or any kind of percussive elements. The track’s atmosphere is created by guitars that crackle like a fireside with touches of e-bow and glockenspiel, and the low notes of an electric organ played by Janne Kauppinen. Appu Jasu is singing.”

“As time and repeated listens will reveal, all of this has allowed the band to produce a style and sound all of their own, thrillingly celebratory in its scuffed up imperfections, yet respectfully measured, futuristically attuned and humbly assured.” Indie 30
