Harmony arrives on the 31st January 2025
“Draggin’ On” is the final single before Pink Chameleons release their 2nd album Harmony on the 31st January 2025, via Soliti Recordings.
Propulsive riffage, psych tones and a layered sound-wall distinctive of previous single “Sunshine Honey”, “Draggin’ On” offers a darker, more intense experience than the poptones of “Sunshine Honey”. A midway arch to the moods that are distilled in Harmony’s sound picture – “Draggin’ On”’s hypnotic nature rewards repeated plays. “Draggin’ On” releases on the 10th January 2025.

Harmony was crafted at Altai Studios in Helsinki and completed at home. “Altai Studios, owned by the band 22-pistepirkko, is built in the cellar of a very old movie house” Paltsa-Kai Salama, leader of Pink Chameleons tells us. “Harmony leans more into psychedelia than our more punk inspired debut album, 2021’s Peace and Love. The overall sound of Harmony is dominated by mellotron, hypnotic tremolo and electric sitar along with repetitive bass riffs and percussion”
Initial Reaction to “Draggin’ On”
“You’ll find the riffs mellowing in the shadows, waiting to hit a touch of explosiveness when you arrive at the chorus, matched with some organ work to strengthen the underbelly” Austin Town Hall
““Draggin’ On” features a mesmerizing sound, with an atmospheric and ethereal arrangement, with vocals full of ambience and “surf rock” guitars, it’s a song that will leave you in a musical trance.” Roadie Music
“In this track, the band opts for a raw, robust and strident sound, without leaving aside their exploration of genres such as Shoegaze and Psychedelic Rock. Psychedelia is used brilliantly, moving away from the clichés of the genre and dialoguing with the most strident of rock.” Rmas
“And yes, they are as adept in psychedelia as the are in everything else.” WYMA
“The ensemble has grown deeper from the noisy garage feel, which is cool.” Niche Music
“Paltsa-Kai ‘s voice becomes the guiding thread of this sonic journey, making the rawness of the style resonate in an authentic way. It’s a sound that hasn’t been tamed by time, but has found new life in the simplicity of its execution.” Oleada indie
“The track’s structure builds through careful accumulation of elements rather than sudden shifts, creating hypnotic effect that matches its lyrical exploration of circular patterns and repeated behaviours. Salama’s vocals weave through the dense instrumentation while maintaining clarity of delivery and emotional impact.” – B-Side Guys

Reaction to previous single “Sunshine Honey”

“This single, hypnotic in its finest forms, is a track that compels repeated plays and encourages you to press all available ‘follow buttons’ to make sure you do not forget the release of the album.” Janglepophub
“It stands out for its dynamic musical narrative and a rhythm that will undoubtedly provoke body movement, full of electronic sounds and textures that give depth to the track.” R más
“Garage, folky and dirty song” Moochila tv
“It’s a country-flavored garage psychedelic song, and it’s the band’s most pop song to date.” Niche Music
“Sunshine Honey’ seems to be intended as a sort of psych-lite event, more in the way of psych pop and intended perhaps for the younger end of the audience spectrum” Nordic Music Central
