Pink Chameleons announce new album Harmony, share new single “Sunshine Honey”

Harmony is released via Soliti Recordings on the 31st january 2025

2024 has seen Pink Chameleons release a couple of singles, “Colors Seem to Fade” and “Some Sunny Feeling”  whilst playing a handful of live dates. Outside of the official glare, the band has been busy readying album #2;  Harmony sees the light of day on the 31st January, 2025 – via Soliti Recordings.

“Harmony  was crafted at Altai Studios in Helsinki and completed at home.  “Altai Studios, owned by the band 22-pistepirkko,  is built in the cellar of a very old movie house” Paltsa-Kai Salama, leader of Pink Chameleons tells us. “Harmony leans more into psychedelia than our more punk inspired debut  album, 2021’s Peace and Love. The overall sound of Harmony is dominated by mellotron, hypnotic tremolo and electric sitar along with repetitive bass riffs and percussion”

Along with the Harmony album announcement, Pink Chameleons share new single “Sunshine Honey”

“”Sunshine Honey” is such a warm and fuzzy psych-pop tune, so what could be a better companion for it than a video of  dancing and singing wooly socks.” Paltsa-Kai tells us.

Listen to “Sunshine Honey”

One of the more approachable songs in the band’s catalogue, “Sunshine Honey” offers a flip side to  some of Harmony’s dense and evolving Mega Psych Sound.-  ““Sunshine Honey”  is a Psych pop song or even a happy song for these dark times.  It features a sharp electric sitar and a goofy organ riff. The chorus is a cheerful  blast of pure joy” Paltsa-Kai tells us. “Sunshine Honey” arrives on the 13th December 2024.

Initial Reaction

“This new single is brimming with brightness, playing upon the song’s title by showering you with warmth, letting the honey and the song’s underbelly keep you stuck in the mix.” Austin Town Hall

“This single, hypnotic in its finest forms, is a track that compels repeated plays and encourages you to press all available ‘follow buttons’ to make sure you do not forget the release of the album.” Janglepophub

“It stands out for its dynamic musical narrative and a rhythm that will undoubtedly provoke body movement, full of electronic sounds and textures that give depth to the track.” R más

“Garage, folky and dirty song” Moochila tv

“It’s a country-flavored garage psychedelic song, and it’s the band’s most pop song to date.” Niche Music

Soundi shared the video “fast-paced psych-pop blast”

“cheerful psych pop” Setlistmx

“Sunshine Honey’ seems to be intended as a sort of psych-lite event, more in the way of psych pop and intended perhaps for the younger end of the audience spectrum” Nordic Music Central

Reaction to earlier singles Colors Seem To Fade and Some Sunny Feeling

“This is the sort of pensive psychedelia that we don’t encounter as often these days, pulling from these sort of mysterious Eastern influences like a slow burning stick of incense” Austin Town Hall

“Creating a western-folk-rock sound” SetlistMX

“It’s a sound that will appeal to people who like The Brian Jonestown Massacre and Ty Segall.” Niche Music

“This song is full of texture and vibrancy” Darkus Magazine

“Even The Beatles at their most Indian-inspired level of creativity wouldn’t have mixed those three instruments.” Nordic Music Central

“Pink Chameleons piloted by Paltsa-Kai Salama of the Black Lizard band lives up to expectations with their new single” Päivan Biisit
