Ghosts On TV announce third album Iridescent – share lead single “CCTV”

Ghosts on TV 2026 by Aapo Soulanto

Iridescent arrives via Soliti Recordings on the 15th May 2026.

Ever since the 16-year-old high school friends formed a band back in 2013, Ghosts on TV has brought beauty and wistfulness to the Finnish alternative scene, evolving from a promising indie band to blissful walls of sound, melancholic minimalism and delicate atmosphere. The Helsinki-based group has been described as “post-rock”, “beautiful shoegaze” or “northern art-rock”, in the biggest music media of Finland and in blogs around the world. Drawing comparisons to bands like Radiohead, GY!BE, Mogwai and The National, Ghosts on TV has stood out from their Finnish contemporaries, doing proudly their own thing while touring actively in Finland and a couple of times abroad (USA, Europe). The group now announces the first single from their anticipated, forthcoming third studio album Iridescent. The single is called “CCTV”.

“ “CCTV” was a product of listening to a lot of Current 93 and watching series like Adolescence as well as documentaries on the manosphere. The track indulges a feeling of anxiety and sadness on how indifferent, hostile and divided people seem to be nowadays; socially, politically and philosophically. While the music maybe creates a hopeful and comforting energy, the lyrics are bleak and sardonic to say the least. This counterpoint aspires to make the listener feel uncomfortable, as the topic of the song should. It’s not fun, but it’s important. We need to learn to disconnect from toxic, artificial bubbles of communication and influence, and rediscover how to love and care for each other on a fundamentally human level.” – Anttoni Hill, Guitarist from Ghosts on TV
“CCTV” is released on the 27th February, 2026

Praise for 2023’s Ghosts On TV album

“It’s a powerful and totally absorbing album that emphasises why this band are amongst the best that Scandinavia has to offer. See you in Helsinki.” Nordic Music Review

“ I haven’t found all the angles on each track, or part of them, yet, but all in all, Ghosts is the strongest ensemble of TV’s career so far.” Desibeli

“The band creates a massive and addictively bubbling wall of sound. The serene melancholy of the song “Sheets of Blue” approaches the magical atmosphere reminiscent of the later works of Talk Talk.” – Soundi

“On the new album, you can hear influences from all over indie rock, from shoegaze to slowcore. The whole thing includes fast-paced guitar playing as well as slower, ballad-like moments.” Rumba

“They’ve constructed this beautiful lyrical video, featuring the lyrics placed over various scenes of nature; occasionally those shots are obscured, tying into the vibe of the melody in the song, hidden softly beneath a wall of feedback and noise” Austin Town Hall

“The band’s expression is characterised by ethereal drifting. The nearly 12-minute track “Muljutus” demonstrates how Ghosts on TV excels in hypnotic space-traveling kraut-painting.” Ilkka-Pohjalainen

“U2 to the power of 10. Or 1024 if you prefer; which could be the dB. The last time I heard anything like this, live, was when I went to see Swans a few years ago.” – Nordic Music Central

“Sunshine, a gentle song overall, demonstrates the band’s propensity for strong melodicism as well as their prospects.” Darkenin Heart

“…I’m secretly looking forward to it, as some people will miss it and some will like it in the future.” Niche Music

“Sunshine, the album’s opening track, is a spatial, lovely, and noisy rock song that demonstrates how well Ghosts on TV utilise shoegaze sounds” Janglepophub

In 2020 Ghosts on TV’s debut album “I Am Not Dead, I Am 55 Today” was chosen as the best Nordic album of the year by Nordic Music Review. The record infamously consisted of one 30-minute instrumental piece called ” I Am Not Dead”, and a 7-minute soft epilogue called “I Am 55 Today”. The same year Ghosts on TV signed a record deal with Soliti Recordings. After a collaborative live album with the poet Francis North (ENTROPY, 2022) – their sophomore self-titled studio album came out in 2023. It was Radio Helsinki’s album of the week, and the shoegaze influenced singles got praise in the indie blogosphere of USA, Europe, Japan and New Zealand. The members of Ghosts on TV have also played in bands such as Knife Girl, HENRIK!, moshimoshi and Oakahtoakseh.
