Soliti is thrilled to announce the forthcoming album from Delay Trees. ‘Doze’ is the follow up to Delay Trees much acclaimed s/t album from 2010. ‘Doze’ hits record stores and digital outlets on the 19th October 2012. A new single will appear before the album release along with a full list of accompanying shows.
Delay Trees own words on ‘Doze’ :
‘Doze’ is very different from our debut album. Its beauty is uneven and sometimes hidden, the songs need more listening and there’s more room for extremes.
This time we wanted to remove ourselves from the harmonious pop-song formula of our debut by widening our musical pallet and taking a few steps into the unknown. We gave improvisation a lot more room in the studio and in the songwriting process and tried to “listen” to our intuition more. This doesn’t mean we were picking cards from an Oblique Strategies-pack but not far from it. ‘Doze’ is definitely a transition record. After this we can feel totally free to do anything and not be chained to one genre or style. Of course it’ll always be melodic and a bit dreamy when talking about Delay Trees but if we wanna put out an instrumental ambient record out next, then people will be more prepared for it because of ‘Doze’.We are very pleased with ‘Doze’ and we had a blast making it in various locations with Julius Mauranen and Teemu Vilmunen. “
